Week 45: Jam

Hello everyone! This week was a good one! Nothing too out of the ordinary happened. We did our zone service on Tuesday and on Wednesday we had district council. On Thursday we had a really good lesson with someone and the fellowship that came was perfect. He helped answer questions and they got along really well. There is a lot of potential there. Then on Friday we went on exchanges. Elder Powell came here for the day, that was a lot of fun. He served around me a lot when I was in Port Angeles. We did some service making lamp posts for a lady who we have been helping for awhile. It was a lot of fun. Then on Saturday we were out tracting and a dog (Jam) started to follow us. We could not get rid of it. Multiple attempts to make it stay on its porch, running down the street, calling both phone numbers on the tag, nothing worked until about an hour later when the owners showed up. It was pretty frustrating, but oh well.

I also got my transfer call this week! I am going to the Soundview Ward in Tacoma with Elder Lancaster and am going to be sharing the ward with a set of sister missionaries. It's the first time the elders have been in the area in a very long time, so it's likely my area book will be completely blank. It is also my first bike area! I am excited and grateful I was in a car through the winter. My new companion has never been on a bike either so it's going to be an adventure.

Anyways, that's all for this week. Till next time!

Week 44: Boats

Hello everyone! This week was good! I got to teach a lesson on a boat this week! That was pretty cool. The person that we are working with doesn't have a house, he lives on his boat in the marina. It was really pretty and the lesson went well too which was cool.

Then, later this week we helped another person we are teaching build a gazebo in his backyard. That was pretty fun too. We had to lift the roof panels up and climb some ladders to put them on. We also helped the same lady with her picnic bench again, which was good too. She is starting to come to church which is also exciting. We also had interviews with our mission president on Wednesday. That went well too. It's always good to talk to him, get some information and he usually brings snacks too.

Anyways that's all for this week. Till next time.

Week 43: Tablemaking 101

Hello everyone! This week was good as well! On Friday we went and made a picnic table and stained it for another older lady. She was super grateful and helped out the best she could the whole time.

The next day we were walking in between apartment complexes during the afternoon and this guy came running past us. We said hello and he told us he had been looking for us. He lives in a boat in the harbor and has been trying to contact the church. He even came and knocked on the church doors! We gave him the church information and he showed up the next day. It was awesome. He participated in the classes and gave great input. Turns out, he had been taught a bunch of times when he was in Colorado. I'm excited to see how things turn out with him. He is a cool guy and it was a really cool experience for me to have.

Anyways, that's all for this week. Till next time.

Week 42: Zone Conference

Hello all! This week was a good one! On Tuesday we had Zone Conference with everyone from the north. That was a lot of fun. As always, it was really good to get to see a bunch of past companions and we got some good training on a bunch of different things.

The rest of the week was really full with a mix of service, lessons and tracting. There is this old lady that we go to every Friday and help her do her yard work. This week we painted her picnic table and ended up teaching her a full lesson while doing it. It was cool to see the service spark a genuine curiosity in her.

The other lessons also went good. One lady has been struggling for a long time with getting an answer to prayer and the last time we were there yesterday she told us she got an answer! Which was a huge step forward for her.

Also, a few days ago, there was a lady in the Tacoma hospital who needed a blessing but all the Tacoma missionaries were in their Zone Conference so, we being the closest, got to go down to Tacoma and do that. The hospital is in an area where 2 of my past companions served and they had a lot of stories to tell as we drove through it. It was pretty cool.

Anyways, that's all for this week. Till next time.
